Meeting start at 7.45pm. Light refreshment available at competitive prices !!

This is the opportunity for you to ask that question that you have wanted to know the answer but may have been afraid to ask such as ;-

  • What is a light year?
  • What is a degree of arc?
  • How can you see colours in stars?
  • Why can we only see one side of the moon?
  • When is the next eclipse of the sun visible in UK?
  • Do you need a telescope to enjoy astronomy?
  • What is a meteor?
  • What is a meteor shower?

No question asked at our meetings are considered stupid it is just stupid not to ask a question.

The committee are always looking for new ideas for meetings so if you have a few ideas let us know.

Meetings in the planning stages include:-

  • Setting up your first telescope for initial observing of the moon and stars
  • Setting up you telescope / binoculars for observing the sun - safely
  • Finding your way around the stars - the main constellation that act as pointer will be given.
  • Take photographs of the moon using your telescope - including practical demonstration of how to fit a camera to you telescope.
