About the society |
|
The Mid Kent Astronomical Society (or MKAS for short) has been running since 1976 and currently has a membership of over 60 astronomers some of whom are very new to astronomy and some that are very experienced. The Society thus caters for all who are interested in the night sky (the stars and moon for instance) and the day sky the sun and it many fascinating aspects. Over the last few years the following astronomical events have been observed by members - the transit of Mercury - Opposition of Mars - Transit of Venus. If the astronomical event mean nothing to you then come along to one of our meetings and asks questions and you too will be able to enjoy more of the events that happen in the "heavens". |
